If you have researched AR15s you have most certainly seen the debate over 7075 VS 6061. We won't get into that debate here, however we will share our opinion. In a nut shell, 6061 and 7075 are both strong enough for an AR lower receiver and we feel either one is a great option.
When an AR15 fires, the explosion happens within the shell casing which is locked in the chamber by the bolt. Spent gasses force the bolt back into the buffer tube and the cycle continues from there. The majority of the forces created remain inline with the upper receiver. Click the button to see an excellent video.
This is a tough question, but we feel like you can't go wrong either way and that is why we offer both options! Happy gun building!
